Give items away in Luxembourg
At first, you left it in the hall ‘for now’.
Inside is a working lamp, a few books and a raclette grill bought for a particularly ambitious social life. You no longer use them, but they have not necessarily reached the end of their usefulness.
You can give items away near you in Luxembourg. Post in your language and Domelti helps the encounter happen.
The box could finally leave the hall.

That is often true.
The lamp still shines. Books can be read again. The gardening tools need not wait for your sudden return to growing seedlings.
Sometimes we keep things because they are useful. They simply are no longer useful to us.
Giving them away need not create an extraordinary second life. Sometimes it simply lets someone read with decent light.
That is already quite something.

Take the items out, put them somewhere bright and show them as they are.
One overall view, then the detail that matters. Show the cable if it is included. Say so if the lid is missing.
Add a few words: what you are giving, its condition and where it can be collected. Dimensions save everyone time when an item is bulky.
The lamp does not need to pose. People need to know whether it turns on.

It is good news. It is not a description.
Posting is currently free. Clearly mark the item as free so that no price or payment is expected at handover.
You may offer items allowed by Domelti’s publishing rules and must describe their condition honestly. Furniture, household items, books, games, clothes, leisure equipment and moving supplies may be suitable. Dangerous, regulated or unusable items can be prohibited.
Only when publication is allowed, its condition is perfectly clear and it has a genuine use, such as parts or repair. Dangerous or irreparable items belong in an appropriate collection scheme.
No. You choose who to arrange the handover with. Prefer a clear conversation and realistic meeting, then update the status when reserved.
No. Members arrange collection directly. For heavy items, state dimensions, access, the vehicle needed and any help available.
Yes, with a precise and realistic date or time. Avoid vague pressure. People should understand the constraint before contacting you.
It all starts with an item
It took up room in your home. Elsewhere, it finds a place. You did not need to invent a story for it. You simply allowed the next part to happen.
And this time, the box in the hall is for the next clear-out. Finally. In theory.
Rules for posting wellThe interested person still needs to know whether it works, whether a part is missing and whether they can take it home.
A box of books and a freezer are not collected in quite the same way. Mention anything that complicates the journey, including size and access.
The price is zero. The stairs are still there.

The six glasses can stay together. So can the puzzle, preferably with all its pieces.
For everything else, do not ask someone to adopt the whole box because one item interests them.
A few related items can form a set: drawing supplies, utensils or accessories for one appliance. Separate ads may be simpler for the rest.
The person collecting your glasses may not have planned to leave with your flippers.

The person looking for your item may not speak your language.
In Luxembourg, it would be a shame to stop there.
You post in yours and they discover the ad in theirs. The lamp becomes ‘Lampe’, ‘lamp’ or ‘candeeiro’. It shines exactly the same.
Someone replies. You agree on a time that works for both of you.
Confirm that the item is available and explain how to collect it. Mark it reserved when appropriate. If plans change, you can offer it to someone else.
You arrange the handover directly. Domelti neither stores items nor handles transport.
Then the bell rings. A few words, a thank you, and the box goes through the door.
You had forgotten how large the hall was.

That does not have to be the end of the story.
A clearer photograph, a more precise title or a collection date may help. You can also split up a set that mixes too many things.
Sometimes a charity or local reuse organisation is more suitable. Options depend on the item, its condition and your municipality.
If it can no longer be used safely, send it to the appropriate collection or recycling service.
Giving does not mean moving a problem into someone else’s home.

Agree on a precise time, confirm before departure and ask for notice if plans change. Do not permanently remove the ad before the handover has happened.
Yes, when the set is coherent and clearly described. Say whether it must be collected whole. Very different items are often easier to find in separate ads.
Improve the photographs and details, then see whether a local reuse organisation or charity can accept it. Follow your municipality’s official collection guidance if it is no longer usable.
Yes. Domelti lets you search and read in your language across the other supported languages.
