Publishing and Safety Rules

The rules that apply to listings and exchanges between members.

Principle

Domelti is intended for local, honest and safe exchanges between private adults. Each listing must clearly describe what is offered or sought, without misleading other members or circumventing applicable rules.

These Publishing Rules supplement the Terms of Use and form part of the contractual framework applying to Domelti members. The fact that a category is technically available does not mean that every offer is permitted in it.

Prohibited content

The list below is not exhaustive. In particular, it is prohibited to publish or offer:

Goods, services and content primarily intended to enable, facilitate or conceal a prohibited activity are also prohibited, as is any unlawful, dangerous or fraudulent offer.

  • stolen or fraudulently obtained goods, or goods that the member cannot lawfully dispose of
  • counterfeit goods, misleading imitations or content infringing intellectual property rights
  • weapons, ammunition, explosives or components intended for their manufacture
  • drugs, illegal substances or equipment mainly intended for their consumption or manufacture
  • medicines, prescriptions, regulated medical products or unauthorised healthcare services
  • tobacco, nicotine, electronic cigarettes, alcohol or products subject to a specific age restriction
  • live animals, protected species or products unlawfully derived from animals
  • foodstuffs, food supplements or other products intended for ingestion
  • dangerous, recalled, prohibited or non-compliant products, or products with safety features removed
  • official documents, accounts, payment methods, personal data, banking data or computer access
  • financial services, credit, investments, cryptoassets, gambling or products comparable to a means of payment
  • named tickets, gift cards or instruments readily usable for fraud
  • sexual services, exploitation of a person or sexual content involving a minor
  • medical, legal or financial services, or regulated professional services, where the member may not lawfully provide them
  • hateful, violent, terrorist, discriminatory or harassing content, or content infringing human dignity
  • scams, money chains, pyramid schemes, fake investments or suspicious money-transfer requests
  • spam, repetitive advertising, commercial recruitment or unauthorised collection of contact details

Categories subject to specific rules

Domelti may reject or impose stricter conditions on listings concerning vehicles, electrical devices, children’s products, protective equipment, and occasional transport, repair, care or building services.

For a vehicle, the member must accurately describe its identity, condition and known defects without publishing an official document, private address, readable registration plate or identifier that unnecessarily exposes personal data.

An electrical device must not be subject to a recall and its defects must be disclosed. Child-safety products, helmets or protective equipment that have been involved in an accident, are damaged, incomplete or expired are prohibited.

Local help must remain occasional, lawful and compatible with the member’s status as a private individual. It must not circumvent any applicable authorisation, insurance, registration, professional qualification or declaration requirement.

Listing quality

A listing must:

  • use photographs that the member is entitled to publish
  • reasonably show the actual item when one is offered
  • disclose known defects and not conceal its condition
  • show a genuine price or clearly state that it is free
  • be placed in a relevant category
  • avoid unrelated keywords and duplicates
  • not publish an exact private address, identity document or banking details
  • be removed or updated when no longer available

Safe exchanges

  • Stay in Domelti messaging for as long as possible.
  • Never disclose a login code, password or bank card code.
  • Be wary of payment links, carriers or escrow services sent by a stranger.
  • Check the item before payment and choose an appropriate meeting place.
  • Stop and report the exchange if there is pressure, inconsistency or an unusual request.

Moderation and appeals

Domelti may use automated tools and human review to enforce these rules. Content may be rejected, hidden or removed and an account may be restricted or suspended.

Any decision may be challenged under the procedure described in the Terms of Use. An appeal decision is not based exclusively on an automated tool.
